MouseKuna was just going about and minding his business one day, he had finally made sure to stay far away from any predators this time, he was actually finally enjoying himself instead of fearing being chased down all the time... but as you may guess by now, that feeling went away rather quick...

-

Mpunga was also minding his own business that same day, but he soon started to go and hunt for him and Kuju, who was waiting back at home for Mpunga to return.
Mpunga looked very carefully each time he hunted a mouse or smaller animal because he knew Kuna could be any animal around him, even the rhino's who were nearby could've been Kuna, Mpunga wouldn't know for sure.
Mpunga caught a glimpse of a mouse run by him, that one he believed was MouseKuna, so Mpunga just kept walking along. That mouse Mpunga just avoided was actually Kuna's friend and partner, John. This would be a mistake Mpunga would regret...

Mpunga finally believed he found some mice who weren't MouseKuna, so he hunted down three of them, he quickly ate those. That time he was right, they weren't MouseKuna at all, just random mice who had the bad luck to be roaming where Mpunga was.
Even though Mpunga already had a few mice, that didn't solve his hunger, he was a fully grown male lion, he needed much more than a few small pickings. So he journeyed onward to find more to hunt.

Mpunga did catch himself a few more smaller animals, yet he decided to bring those back home to Kuju so she could have something to eat that day. Soon after he brought that food home, Mpunga went back out, he still wished to find at least something to eat.

He had no luck, the bigger prey had run off at the sound of Mpunga hunting. That would end badly for some of the smaller animals...
Finally after hours of searching for anything, Mpunga finally found at least something, a mouse. He knew it wasn't much, but at least it was something. Mpunga knocked the mouse out and swallowed it whole, he didn't even bother to chew it at all, he was just too hungry to care... Sensing he wouldn't be able to find anything else to eat until tomorrow, Mpunga started to head back home.

Unknown to Mpunga, the mouse he did manage to eat after all was the one mouse he had tried avoiding all day, I'm not sure MouseKuna appreciated that.
-

MouseKuna did wake up from being knocked out soon enough, yet he has no idea where he was or what his surroundings were, he just knew it was dark, so he started yelling out for help.

-
On his way home Mpunga found Kara, he told her that he'd been hearing voices, but he had no idea why. She just said that he may have eaten spoiled, but to go ask Kuna to make sure since he knew about hearing voices often. She had no idea what happened, but Mpunga did exactly that, he went to find Kuna.

--

Mpunga walked into Kuna's cave near sunset, yet he couldn't find Kuna anywhere, not even in his mouse form. So he asked the only other lion in the cave to help him find Kuna, that lion was Hero, who was waiting for Kuna to return because Hero had some questions to ask.

Hero asked Mpunga what for, and Mpunga told him why.
Hero decided to try hearing the voices Mpunga claimed to be hearing, and sure enough, Hero had heard the voices too.

Hero finally came to the conclusion that the mouse Mpunga had eaten earlier was actually MouseKuna, which he was correct about. Mpunga was shocked when he heard that and soon ran outside.

---

A few moments later MouseKuna 'reappeared', only thanks to Mpunga.

MouseKuna: Oh Mpunga, you just decided to do it this time, you really don't know how much I actually hated that. But you're lucky, this time I shall let you go, yet if this happens one more time, I will get my revenge on you.

Mpunga: You seem a little grumpy don't you? Yet I did say sorry MouseKuna, and you're lucky, I probably wouldn't of found out what happened to you without Hero's help. You need to be thankful, not hateful.

MouseKuna: Oh, I am thankful, I'm actually alive right now, but it could've been worse. I could've even been hunted by hyena's, who knows? Yet this is the second time you've done this, only this time you actually swallowed me.

Mpunga: Just stop being a mouse, alright?

MouseKuna: I can't do that, I need to take care of John, in fact, he's probably waiting for me right now, he even may be worried about me, I need to go... bye Mpunga, and don't let this happen again, you hear?

Mpunga just let MouseKuna run off, he knew the conversation was over. So he just walked back home, it was already becoming nighttime.

-*-

MouseKuna ran off to the place where he and John were living together, yet once he got close to the home, he decided to clean himself off. John wouldn't like seeing Kuna covered in such like that, he'd begin to over worry.

MouseKuna finally cleaned himself off and then walked into his home casually.

John: And where were you Kuna? I've been worried all day that you wouldn't return... wait, what do I smell... Why do you smell like a lion?

MouseKuna just stared at John, he began to worry of what John thought.

John: Wait a second... you were hunted! I know that smell... Now tell me who hunted you, I will get my revenge on them myself for what they did to you.

MouseKuna: John, who hunted me doesn't matter, I made it out and I am alive, we need to be happy, let's not just be worried. Yet for you getting revenge, you are just a mouse, and since I care for your life and have saved you, I advise you not to get revenge.

John: 'Just a mouse'? I can't believe you'd say that to me Kuna. I'm more than just a mouse, and you know it. I can take care of my self, you were only lucky that day in that lionesses cave to save me, I would've been fine.

MouseKuna: Fine? You would've died! And with you dead, I wouldn't of been able to meet you, you're a wonderful mouse, and you're intelligent as well. I am neither, I'm only good at protecting others, even if I could die at any moment.

John: Oh Kuna, you know that's not true, you do more than just protect, you even save many lives, you probably were hunted because you were saving someone, yes?

MouseKuna: Right... anyway, I think it's late. Let's go get some sleep.

John: That's a good idea, let's go.

John and MouseKuna went off to sleep rather quickly, they would wake up the following morning and discuss their plans.

MouseKuna: Well, good morning John. Now, what are our plans for today? I could go ahead and...

John interrupts: No, you were hunted, remember? You need to stay here away from danger, I will go out there and find us something to eat this morning, and maybe later if you're feeling well, we can go find out if any of my friends are wandering about, and if they are being hunted, you can help me stop them.

MouseKuna: Well, don't go too far outside, I don't want you to get hurt. But before you go, sorry for the argument we had last night, I didn't mean to get mad at you.... I just had a long day.

John: Oh, it's fine Kuna, don't worry. I understand how much you went through, I accept your apology. Now just sit back and rest, I won't be too long.

MouseKuna gives John a hug and John goes out to find some food.

--*--

John returned a little while later, but he couldn't find anything that Kuna and him could eat. So instead, the two mice decided to just go look around for some of John's friends.

John did find Peter and Paul, and even Jessie, yet MouseKuna couldn't find any of John's friends, even though John told him the descriptions of the friends to find.

John: Hey Kuna, do you think we can go ahead and have my friends meet up in our home? I have a special plan for them.

MouseKuna: Sure, go ahead.

John: Thanks. Anyway, you can go ahead and wander about wherever, I will talk to you later.

MouseKuna soon ran off into the long grass of the savanna, leaving John behind. MouseKuna had himself his own plan.

--*--

Mpunga soon awoke the morning after the event with MouseKuna, he still felt rather empty, but this time Kuju said that she'd do the hunting. She usually brought back more large prey anyway.

Soon after Kuju left, a mouse came running into Mpunga's cave. It was just MouseKuna again.

Mpunga: Kuna, don't you realize how dangerous it is around here? There is so many predators who will hunt you! Even me if it's accidental.

MouseKuna: I know that, that's why I will turn back into a lion here shortly, but I just wanted to talk to you, is that alright?

Mpunga: Turn back into a lion then that way I don't feel crazy talking to a mouse.

MouseKuna: Fine Mpunga, I'll be right back.

MouseKuna walked out of the cave and came back moments later in his lion form.

Kuna: There, better?

Mpunga: Yes, quite. Now talk what you wanted to talk about.

Kuna: First off, I wished to apologize for yesterday's argument between us, I shouldn't of been so angry. I need to be thanking you for actually realizing where I did disappear to.

Mpunga: You were a mouse, I'm a lion, it's rather common for that kind of thing to happen you know. I forgive you, but don't get angry at me. Now, is there anything else you want to talk about? I'd rather just forget about yesterday and pretend it never happened.

Kuna: Yes, there is one other thing. I notice Kuju isn't here, so I guess I will just have to tell you about it. You know the area you were hunting yesterday? Well, the prey there isn't good for you, it's all going to be too small to make a proper meal, you'll be needing to hunt in the area near the river, that's where it is better to hunt.

Mpunga: Well, thanks for telling me, but the area near the river is where Hero and Binari live, Hero doesn't accept of strangers hunting on his land. Speaking of which, Hero was looking for you yesterday, he wished to tell you something.

Kuna: If you are caught by Hero when you hunt closer to the river, then tell him that I told you that you can hunt there. He doesn't wish to challenge me, right?
As for what he wanted to say, did he tell you?

Mpunga: Alright, I will try to remember that then... and no, not at all, he didn't tell me anything else, but he seemed a bit angry, you may need to go find him and talk to him before he does something stupid. Well, more stupid than regular, but you get the point.

Kuna: Yes, I get the point, I will go find him, see you around.

A few moments later Kuju came back from hunting, she didn't find too much by the size of each piece of food. She did notice Kuna walking away from the cave though.

Kuju: What was Kuna doing here Mpunga?

Mpunga: He was just telling me some things, he even told us where to hunt at to get better prey.

Kuju: I wonder why he'd do that... But where did he say to hunt at?

Mpunga: Closer to the river he said, yet I knew that was close to where Hero lives. But all Kuna said then was that we have the ability to hunt there is Hero liked it or not.

Mpunga and Kuju soon started eating, and afterwards they headed off to start hunting together where they could find bigger prey, near the river.

-THE END-
The title actually has a very good meaning depending on how you read the story for once... odd.

Yeah, the beginning of the story is basically the backstory of the latest picture I made for Tabansi-1982, but at least you now get what happened, right?

The later part of this story is a combination of a few other story ideas I've had for a while ^^

Hopefully you enjoy the quick story anyway, even though it's rather randomly put together.
-
But all in all, I hope whoever reads this story enjoys it :)
And if you find something wrong about the story, or you're confused on something, do feel free to talk with me :D
--

I also know it's basically a gift to you Tabansi, so I'll put credit to that below:
Mpunga and Kuju belong to Tabansi-1982
And since it's a sort of gift to Tabansi, Tabansi can choose to continue this if they wish. (Or is they tell me to continue it, then that too)

sorry if you found it rude though Tabansi, it really weren't my intention ^^

A Kuna-made Mice-reservation, hmn? Well.. Let the word spread for a while, and after it's filled with mice... We'll hunt! :D Mwuahaharrr ;P
Lovely story by the way, but if John is another special case then "just a mouse"; I wonder what he'd be, to pose such a great threat to a fully grown Mpunga. *shivers with fearrrrr*
